Portacabin Painting Project

On 19th and 20th May, we had 10 wonderful volunteers join us from Sanctuary Housing, OCM and AKW to help reinvigorate our portacabins!

Having survived their move to their new location at the front of the centre in September 2024, our portacabins for music, art, yoga and our office team needed a bit of TLC. AkzoNobel kindly offered their services to source and donate the paint needed for this project, giving us the specific paint for the material of the cabins to ensure longevity. The staff from the Delux Distribution Centre were also incredibly helpful in helping is get ready for the project, personally delivering the materials up to the centre!

Day 1: Preparation and Painting!

Volunteers got off to a brilliant start on day 1, sanding down and preparing the cabins and handrails for their fresh coat of paint.

The team then began on the painting, spot priming any newly sanded areas before getting started on the blue and gardenia!

Day 2: Painting and finishing touches!

Volunteers on Day 2 got stuck in to painting straight away to ensure all walls, guttering and handrails would be complete by the end of the day!

We are hugely grateful to all the volunteers and businesses who supported us to get this project completed. Their hard work and generosity truly transformed our cabins, giving them a fresh new look and ensuring they continue to be a welcoming space for our members. The improvements will directly enhance our specialist provisions, supporting people of all ages with disabilities and additional needs in Music, Art, and Yoga sessions!
